Campus Involvement

Mr. Hillsdale is Michigan Alpha’s men's talent show, in which contestants from around campus compete to persuade the judges and audience through multiple rounds that they should be awarded the title of 'Mr. Hillsdale.' Each year, the rounds include formal attire, beach wear, a talent, and a pick-up line. Contestants represent fraternities, sports teams, or independent organizations. This event takes place in Plaster Auditorium every fall. Mr. Hillsdale not only benefits Pi Phi's philanthropy, but also gives the campus a chance to see its funniest, most creative, and even most daring, men in action!

Layups for Literacy is another annual Michigan Alpha philanthropy event that takes place every spring. Teams of three from around campus come together to compete in a basketball tournament, each year with a different theme! While all of campus looks forward to this event, our sisters love it too, and have formed traditional Michigan Alpha teams that return year after year.

Many sisters also participate in "GOAL" Programs across campus, each finding their own way to serve their community outside of serving with the house. There are a variety of volunteer programs offered on the Hillsdale College campus, such as public and private school tutoring, journal buddies, or even volunteering at the local Humane Society. Our sisters love to stay active in the community and on campus, and emulate the value of "Philanthropic Service to Others" in all that they do!
